After I watched the final table of the 2008 WSOP, I started wondering about the taxes on these earnings. Since the final two at the table were not from the U.S. and assuming they do not live in the U.S.,what tax laws are they subject to? For example,is Peter Eastgate,the winner from Denmark,subject to the U.S. tax laws or the Danish laws? I was just curious about this because if they did not live in the U.S. they would not have to report their earnings to the I.R.S.,correct?
